Really looking forward to Section 8. I prefer a more team oriented style of play. I can only guarantee two or three nights a week, because I have started the grind to learn hard on GH Metallica. sigh.

Expanded version:

Gaming Experience: Decades of casualness. My first console was Pong. When it was new.

I've been mostly a PC gamer for the past 30 years, starting with a Vic 20 without a floppy drive - we had to type pages and pages of code into the machine, then hope Momsy wouldn't turn it off before we got a chance to play the game. After that was a C-64 with a floppy, ending up with a shoe box of games. After that was an Atari 2600, then on to Dos games like Zork.

I was usually a generation behind on PC games, because the hardware was much more affordable. Around 1999 I started coming up a little closer to current generation hardware, then stopped in 2002. Got sick of spending more time getting a PC ready for a game than actually playing it - hardware, drivers, firewalls, antivirus, you name it. Gave up gaming, got into Linux programming, learned Python, gave up trying to teach the wife safer internet practices and got her Vista.

Picked up an broken xbox in 2006, opened it up, spent a year or so fixing bad drives for friends of my nephews, then broke down and got an elite in 2007. That's when I was first exposed to multiplayer gaming, and the hook was set.

Any other additional information about yourself:

I'm an old school wargamer - hex based Squad Leader, Panzer Leader, and a slew of others, as well as the all time classic Empires in Arms. Spent a good deal of time in the 90s playing that game - each one usually lasted two months playing two nights a week. So teamwork and strategy are well ingrained in me.

I am a painter by trade, I run a small shop that prefinishes doors and interior trim for a local manufactured housing company, we paint around 1.5 million linear feet a year. I have just completed refinishing my kitchen, going from clear coated oak to a dark walnut stain. It's nice to do a project for the quality rather than the deadline every now and then.

My daughter is 7 years old, so I only play when she is out or asleep, none of the games I usually play (except RB and GH) are acceptable for her viewing. That means after 8:00 pm evenings including weekends. But I am on just about every night, I find it a great way to relax and unwind.

For hobbies, this summer I began playing Ultimate again, getting myself back in pretty good shape for an old fart. I also still like to paint miniatures for board games (Warhammer, 40K, and Blood Bowl is my favourite).

There, long version finally posted.
